Le Page Architects were commissioned to design a new lighting and sound installation to Grade I St. Petroc’s Church is Cornwall. The scheme included uplighting the roof structure which brings a sense of warmth to the Church. This was achieved by using latest LED technology. This holds benefits in the lighting not needing replacement for 25,000 hours or approximately 25 years. Task lighting has been achieved with low profile Erco fittings with specific emphasis placed on drop lengths to create specific levels of illumination without obstructing artefacts or windows. The sound system is a new Bose installation controllable through a hard wired control unit or through an iPhone app.
The completed project reduces the need for the Church to continually replace old fitments and saves approximately 85% of energy over the original lighting.
