Tavistock Cornmarket

Le Page Architects have been commissioned to undertake re-roofing works to the Grade II listed, former Cornmarket building in the heart of Tavistock.  Originally part of the Duke of Bedford’s estate, the building will receive new natural slate roof coverings, along with a new central lead gutter.

The Practice are also overseeing the internal lighting and heating refurbishment of the Pannier Market following the successful refurbishment of the adjacent Butchers Hall within the town.  The project is following the current ongoing works to the external envelope refurbishment, that will provide Tavistock Town Council with a fully refurbished, enhanced visitor experience to the Market.

Le Page Architects have been commissioned to undertake an historic building report and re-use study on the Plympton St. Maurice Guildhall. The building dates back to 1688 and Sir Joshua Reynolds presided as Mayor in the chambers still present there. The project is funded by a successful HLF grant application.
