Plymouth Gin Distillery, Devon
We have carried out a number of projects at the Distillery working for V&S and then Chivas Brothers the owners, as well as designing a successful restaurant on the site for the award winning Tanner Brothers.
The largest project involved the refurbishment of the building which is listed grade 2* and dates from c1500. The ambitious scheme involved a complete re-presentation of the distillery for visitors. We worked closely with interior designers and archaeologists on the project which encompassed the development of new tasting space, exhibition areas, disabled arrangements and a considerable re design of access within the entrance atrium.
We have worked closely with the company over the last 8 years undertaking numerous other projects to improve the running of the distillery and the visitor experience as well as maintaining this significant building on the Barbican.
The most recent work was to create a new bar within the former Merchant House wing, the most historic part of the site, which has proved to be an enormous success for the company.
