AABC

The AABC register was set up in 2002 and applies to “Architects Accredited in Building Conservation”. The accreditation can only be held by individuals; within the practice Amanda Le Page holds the AABC accreditation. Certain conservation grant giving bodies such as English Heritage insist that the lead architect has AABC accreditation. Like Amanda, others in the practice also have post graduate conservation qualifications.

To be accepted on the register architects are rigorously assessed on their individual knowledge and experience in conservation work. Assessment is by peers in a team which also includes a knowledgeable non-architect to ensure an element of public participation. In addition membership of the register must be renewed every five years to ensure continued learning and standards.
