Accreditation

riba

Being a RIBA Chartered Practice provides a quality assurance to potential clients and the wider construction industry.  Accreditation to the scheme confirms that our business is committed to excellence in design and service delivery.

RIBA Chartered Practices work to a common set of standards. Our clients can expect a high quality service.  RIBA Chartered Practices participating in the scheme gain from better management systems and business information, improved employment support and marketing promotion.

RIBA Chartered Practices are the only practices to be endorsed and promoted by the RIBA.  RIBA Client Services works directly with clients and Chartered Practices to accurately match the project requirements to meet the needs of each client with the expertise of the relevant Chartered Practice/s.

ISO-9001-colour

ISO 9001 is the internationally recognised standard for the quality management of businesses.  It applies to the processes that create and control the products and services an organisation supplies and prescribes systematic control of activities to ensure that the needs and expectations of customers are met.

Registration to ISO 9001 by an accredited certification body shows commitment to quality, customers, and a willingness to work towards improving efficiency. It demonstrates the existence of an effective quality management system that satisfies the rigours of an independent, external audit.

Le Page Architects demonstrated compliance by passing an external audit in 2010.

iso4001

ISO 14001 is the internationally recognised standard for the environmental management of businesses. It prescribes controls for activities and our working methods that have an effect on the environment. These include the use of natural resources, handling and treatment of waste and energy consumption.

Implementing an Environmental Management System (EMS) is a systematic way to monitor, control and adapt to the effects our company has on the environment.

aabc

The AABC register was set up in 2002 and applies to “Architects Accredited in Building Conservation”.   The accreditation can only be held by individuals; within the practice Amanda Le Page holds the AABC accreditation.  Certain conservation grant giving bodies such as English Heritage insist that the lead architect has AABC accreditation.  Like Amanda, others in the practice also have post graduate conservation qualifications.

To be accepted on the register architects are rigorously assessed on their individual knowledge and experience in conservation work.  Assessment is by peers in a team which also includes a knowledgeable non-architect to ensure an element of public participation. In addition membership of the register must be renewed every five years to ensure continued learning and standards.
